"Theresa May commits to net zero UK carbon emissions by 2050 " - This sounds momentous, but it is far too little far too late. We are seeing profound impacts now. Imagine 30 years of high global carbon emissions.

1) I feel unworthy of taking on a role of spelling this all out, but I have thought about the big picture of where this is heading for most of my life, and see the parts of the big picture so many are missing.
2) The most common error in thinking about these matters, is to think grand but inadequate measures will save us. This is not like fooling an electorate with grand rhetoric and propaganda.
3) This is physical reality, you cannot fool it with the political flimflam politicians have used to control and manipulate the public. Inadequate action will result in failure and the collapse of our civilization.
4) The big problem with this thinking is climate change is not the only existential threat to our civilization, and the natural systems which keep us alive. So even if somehow we avert the climate crisis, and this is inadequate for this, there's all the other crises.
5) The present growth economic model without thought for the consequences has resulted in massive biodiversity loss, which is accelerating, soil loss with soils which will eventually not yield more crops and the oceans are being destroyed. All this independent of climate change.
6) Plans of the current governments only envisage preventing the climate crisis, partially. What about the biodiversity crisis also being caused by this economic model there is no plan to change, cause far more ecological devastation.

7) What none of the politicians are looking at is the combined impacts of all these crises, which are bad now and getting far worse. Only radical change now can avert this avoidable crisis.
8) Why the hell are we carrying on with this insane growth model which has not only wrought all the disasters we now see, but will get far worse in the future?
9) I will answer this question, because the billionaires, and the other super rich living stupendously extravagant lives of luxury refuse to give up their wealth and status. They are obsessed with making more.
10) The "World's 26 richest people own as much as poorest 50%". I'm not hating on the rich, just pointing out what is driving this insane destruction of the natural support systems which keep us alive. It's not sustainable and will lead to global suicide.

11) Destroying the Earth's ecosystems that keep us alive to satisfy the pathological wealth obsession of a tiny proportion of the global population is insane. Yet in our current system these people have all the power and influence. The politicians are in their pocket.
12) The answer is not revenge against those maintaining this insane globally suicidal system to satisfy their pathological wealth obsession. They are few and we are many. If we act as one, they have no power, if only we snap out of the spell they hold over us.
13) The obstacle is that we are fixated on this false idea that our leaders are representing us, rather than disingenuously maintaining a globally suicidal system for the wealthiest, because it is them who bankroll our leadership.
14) The aim should not to be replace our leadership with other leaders who themselves would be corrupted by power and wealth, and be no better.
15) Nearly everything we've been taught from birth is a lie, flimflam to continue the multi-generational Ponzi scheme which has made a few stupendously wealthy, but which has been heading us towards global suicide.
16) To break out of this spell it is necessary to realise that the present system is a flimflam, and we need to cooperate to produce a system which is about sustaining us all, and not destroying our natural support systems because of the greed of a few.
17) Really it is that simple. All that is necessary is not new technology, but simply accurate perception that to survive we must live within our ecological means. I can guarantee that this is possible if everyone puts their mind to it.
18) Absolutely the only reason we carried on with an unsustainable economy heading toward global disaster after the 1992 Rio Earth Summit which highlighted these problems are false ideas peddled by those who want to maintain their power, wealth and status.
19) It's all about perception and understanding the situation. It only takes everyone, or most to understand that we must learn to live within our ecological means, not hurtling towards global suicide and the problem is solved.
20) We don't need a grand plan. We need people to come together, to focus on this, and out of this wish to solve this problem, the solutions will emerge.
