MAGA internet has been absolutely roiled today by a video that suggests a Trumpworld internet personality may not be as hardline on immigration as she claims. Subtweets are flying everywhere, and even Ann Coulter has weighed in.

Ashley StClair is a relatively new Trump-world personality. She's earned a much bigger profile over the past few months, in part on the basis of this very memeable tweet about being a "hot Trump supporter." She was also a "special guest" at a Turning Point USA conference.
Most of her tweets are pretty much what you can imagine from the usual Benny Johnson types — boo Democrats, build the wall, etc. But is she actually a hardline immigration hawk, or does she just play one on Twitter? Well...
StClair's detractors surfaced this video of her saying that immigration is a bad issue for Republicans —“They’re just screwing themselves over with this identity politics, and build the wall, and this is all we care about.”
Making matters worse, another guy in the video says it's about time that white people accept that they won't be the majority forever. This was not received well by the alt right! Nor was it popular with immigration hardliners like Ann Coulter, who noticed the video:
A lot of the outrage on the right over the video was created on Telegram, where pro-Trump personalities banished from major social media platforms have turned increasingly angry towards those, like St.Clair, who haven't been kicked off.
This feud was also a debut fight for the nascent faction centered around the relaunched "Human Events," which StClair has written for and itself increasingly at odds with the Telegram crew. Both Human Events bosses tweeted support for StClair, if somewhat vaguely.
In the end, StClair posted a thread assuring her fans that she really does think the wall is a great idea, no matter what she said on the video. Ideological uniformity has been restored to Trump Twitter — for now!
