Three years ago, no one, but those who planned this, would have believed it was possible. So filled with hubris and sanctimony, the US population ignored the possibility. And so did the world. As we humans do, every time fascism and the atrocities it brings rears it’s ugly head.
Some of us have seen this coming for years. Perpetually written off as conspiracy theorists. Hyperbolic. Hysterical.
But anyone familiar with WW2 history and how the Holocaust became possible knew this was the inevitable trajectory November 8, 2016.

I spent a year and a half researching & compiling the evidence that the world was being pushed in this direction. I’ve spent the last year screaming into the twitterverse using that evidence to demonstrate what is happening in the open, in front of our very eyes.

Then denial will set in. Surely genocide could not be happening on US soil. Somebody would stop it. The authorities won’t let that happen. Excuse after excuse, one reassuring denial after another to deny the reality at the Southern US border to many helpless & vulnerable people.
Babies, toddlers, profoundly poor and desperate people herded like animals into cages, holding cells and then shipped to a concentration camp.
No one wants it to be true, so it couldn’t be true.

Most Canadians are perpetuating a delusion. The majority believe we live in a superior democracy and rely on the pieces of paper that guarantees our rights and freedoms. It’s paper. Just like the US Constitution & the Bill of Rights.
The people behind the global surge in authoritarianism, fascism & human rights violations don’t respect paper. Which is why there is a desperate call for action. Too little, too late.
Appealing to the humanity of those with limited & suppressed power will do little to stop it.

Today I weep for the children who will be harmed. I weep for the parents, helpless to protect them. And I weep for the denial and hubris that brought the US to its knees begging for intervention from depravity.

Two fringe progressive parties (NDP & GPC) aiming for a minority government. Echoing Conservative talking points to undermine the current sitting government and gain political power. It won’t be enough to surpass the conservative base of voters. But enough to guarantee a CPC win.
Exactly the same scenario in June 2016 in the US.

We have 4 months before the election. If CPC wins, Canada will forever be altered and most probably won’t exist as a nation within 2-3 years.

In Ontario and Alberta, EVERY sign of fascism can be checked off. Switch out police for military, & it’s all 14 in both provinces.

Ford has shut down provincial government so his policy implementation doesn’t interfere with Ontario voters leery of Scheer. Guaranteed most MPP’s will be canvassing & campaigning for Scheer. With provincial government doors shut, but salaries still paid, Ontario is funding CPC.
Jason Kenney is campaigning in Ontario for Scheer, paid by Albertan’s public funds, confident Alberta will deliver a CPC landslide. That’s two provinces funding the political campaign of the federal CPC.

3 years and the US has descended into chaos. It only took that long because they need 38 states to amend the constitution. The 2016 federal election did not deliver enough Republican led states to remove human rights in one fell swoop. So their end goal has taken longer.
Canada, on the other hand, only requires one more element to remove every human right won over the last 100 years. A Prime Minister willing to call a constitutional convention. The 7 provinces representing 50% + 1, and a complicit Senate are already in place.
Every legal case that is a constitutional challenge has been started to move closer to the goal of amending the Canadian Constitution & Charter of Rights. That includes the faulty legislation on Assisted Dying & Cannabis Legalization that JWR (a Conservative mole) enacted.
If UNDRIP reaches royal assent, expect First Nations to bring multiple cases to challenge the Canadian Constitution. It’s an NDP private members bill, but it’s the far right waiting patiently to take FN to the bank by wheeling and dealing land title claims for access.
Wake the hell up Canada! This isn’t a drill. This is a fascist takeover in slow motion.
