There's plenty of talk about the parallels between the Nixon articles of impeachment and those that could be brought against Trump. But all should take a look at the Andrew Johnson articles of impeachment.
They heavily turn on and repeatedly cite Johnson's failure to uphold "the requirement of the Constitution that he should take care that the laws be faithfully executed." Trump has repeatedly instructed his subordinates to violate U.S. laws or done so himself.
The instances are clear cut and there can be no debate about them. Whether it is Mnuchin violating the law that required the IRS to turn over taxes to the Congress or Kellyanne Conway violating the Hatch Act or Trump violating the Emoluments clause...
