This is a much bigger issue than people realize. And MSM is complicit by allowing this narrative to continue.

Pairing the left with Anti-Canadian rhetoric is the first step to dehumanization.

First you pair your target with labels of unpatriotic, un-Canadian, unnatural.

Then you slide into dehumanizing them.

Trump did this with Muslims & with amnesty seekers at south US border. First they were a national security threat, then vermin, diseased, inhuman. That’s what has allowed creation of concentration camps and removing children from family.

It’s also what’s being taught in Dominionist Christian churches. Progressives are doing the devils work. Left is ruining the nation.

It’s an effort to delegitimize progressive ideology & make it easier to remove human rights if CPC wins election. Coincidentally, that’s the plan

It’s also happening provincially in Alberta at a much elevated pace. Every criticism from the left towards UCP policy is brushed off as fear mongering, un-Albertan, hyperbole, an attempt to delegitimize UCP (talk about gaslighting).

This is very dangerous rhetoric.

It leads to resentment and anger. It’s also Trumps favourite tool to use with the press. “The enemy of the people.”

Create an enemy, then dehumanize them.

It’s an invitation for extremists to take the law into their own hands and a dog whistle to violent behaviour.

And it’s precisely what Michael Cooper is guilty of during HOC Justice committee. Cooper didn’t just undermine the Muslim witness invites to present. He dehumanized him & all Muslims by admonishing publicly and refusing to admit his rhetoric was way over the line.

He neither apologized with any sincerity nor acknowledged his rhetoric was beyond the pale. He smugly acknowledged his words were upsetting to others, but did not retract his premise that the Muslim witness was the one who made infractions by daring to comment.

And Scheers reaction is consistent with the strategy to perform the dog whistle, then apologize for upsetting people, not for the content that was stated.

This is happening on university & high school campuses across nation. This is the free speech Cons refer to.

Freedom to offend, denigrate and dehumanize. They acknowledge the offence taken, but don’t acknowledge the intent to dehumanize their target.

But that’s the true intent of this “free speech”. To chip away at the humanity and the right to equal consideration of the target.

Kenney has already moved on from rhetoric to gaslighting. He’s gaslighting the province and the nation with accusatory rhetoric, lies and dismissive responses to dissent and opposition to his party’s beliefs and policies.

Ford uses same strategy.

These warning signs are for individuals, but are same for entire electorates.

We can not normalize this behaviour. And we must maintain our humanity.

Losing your cool, erupting in frustration, name calling; this is just confirmation for those loyal to the gas-lighter; that you are the unreasonable one & therefore less human than the gas-lighter.

They are prepping their base for increased violence towards progressive individuals, and making a twisted and adulterated Dominionist Christian moral case to remove human rights they prefer progressives NOT to possess.

The woman in the embedded video who uses the un-Canadian rhetoric is using the narrative as a dog whistle. Naming 65-70% of Canada as un-Canadian because they don’t support fossil fuel industry exactly like a conservative; unfettered development.

That’s Scheer’s actual policy.

And that’s what she is dog whistling to the conservative base, along with removing the acceptability of any legitimate dissent from that narrative.

Aided by Don Martin by allowing her to say it unchallenged and silencing the other guests.
