Here we go again.
They're not the militia. They're an armed mob. The militia, as legally defined in Oregon State Law, consists of the organized militia (Military Dept) & the unorganized militia, the latter of which can only be mobilized by the governor.

They're not the militia. They're an armed mob. The militia, as legally defined in Oregon State Law, consists of the organized militia (Military Dept) & the unorganized militia, the latter of which can only be mobilized by the governor.
The purpose of the unorganized militia is to augment the organized militia - the Oregon National Guard or Civil Defense Force. They are not their own entity to activate at their own whim. They are subject to State law -- just as the militia in the US always have been. 
Again - unorganized militia are called up by the authority of the governor. The ability to use force is a function held by civil authority, not by a bubba and his armed buddies.
Words matter. Please stop calling them militia.
