My fact-check of Democrats in South Carolina on Saturday: Biden was misleading about his record on private prisons; Harris at least slightly exaggerated her role in the demise of a for-profit college, though she was indeed a key figure in its collapse: cnn.com/2019/06/24/pol…
Colleague @HolmesLybrand and I fact-checked nine of the Democrats who spoke Saturday at the SC convention. We found zero objectively false or misleading claims from seven: Sanders, Warren, O’Rourke, Booker, Buttigieg, Gillibrand, Castro.
(There was lots of subjective rhetoric about Trump and such, but the stats they cited and factual assertions they made were either entirely correct or supported by enough evidence not to call false. This is worth noting, too, as we point out the false ones.)
