I would never talk about Warren's supporters this way.

Young people who are desperate for relief from unprecedented loan burdens are not a "cult." They are 1 group of many that Bernie has committed his life to helping.

You can't expect to win if you don't respect voters.
The tweet is also grossly ill-informed. Bernie’s debt relief plan costs $1.6Trillion. Warren’s costs 1.25T. Bernie didn’t “double” her plan. His plan, uniquely financed by Wall St speculation, is larger because it covers all student debt. And with good reason.
Bernie understands that means tested policies like Warren’s tend to crumble under political pressure from right wingers (& moderates) who attack them as going to “undeserving” people who don’t work hard enough. Think food stamps, section 8, and “welfare.”
By contrast, policies like Social Security have real staying power becuase all Americans are bought in. Universal policies create strong coalitions which benefit us all. You cant just have a plan for policy. You need a plan to enact and preserve it. #CancelStudentDebt
Moreover, Bernie’s plan isn’t a give away to the rich. The rich don’t have debt.

80% of student debt is held by folks earning less than $127k. And many with higher salaries work those jobs not because they want to, but bc they must to keep up with 2k monthly payments.
Amee sounds like conservatives (and some Dems) who have tried to cut social security for “the rich,” arguing abt “bill gates’s kid”. But there are only 10 of him in the world. Social security is strong bc even middle class ppl rely on it for retirement. We’re all in this together
This isn’t it.
