Probably best not to get over-excited though. Could easily take another few years, most likely punctuated by further such announcements, to reach implementation. And that's if it can pass the European Parliament, not a given.

The EU has implemented trade agreements with Canada and Japan in the last 5 years, and completed but not yet implemented with Singapore, Vietnam, and now Mercosur.

The US has implemented no new trade agreements in this time, and completed then withdrew from CPTPP.
Ok, these agreements won't transform the EU economy. But better than not having them, and spreads EU approaches in trade widely
