1/ I'm reading comments by GOP members about @Nike 's decision to NOT commercialize a product with a version of the flag considered offensive to the African-american population. Their "fictional version of reality" doesn't even touch the facts.

2/ I think it was Ted Cruz that repeated the version that Nike and Kaep are "insulting the military".

3/ It doesn't matter if it was Cruz or not: the USA are going through a surreal moment when all conservatives are speaking in unison under the most unintelligent and uneducated of all your presidents.
4/ It doesn't matter that @Kaepernick7 himself has been exhaustively explaining, since 2016, that his gesture is a protest against POLICE BRUTALITY against black people.

5/ It doesn't matter if military servicemen also try to explain Kaepernick's gesture and confirm that they understood it and it really doesn't insult them. It doesn't even concern them .

6/ The gesture, adopted by other athletes, protests POLICE BRUTALITY against black people. The police are NOT the military. Law enforcement and military forces are totally different institutions. Yet, even policemen support the atlhetes' peaceful protest:

9/ What does that mean?
- the GOP is absolutely not interested in the "matter of fact". All three involved parties have proven their version wrong. Therefore, it is wrong
- they are speaking to their base to radicalize them and weaponize racism

1/ Today I watched a good part of the 2nd democratic debate. First thoughts:
- how cool that a random draw created the "funny surname" table
- Bernie is taller than I thought
- There's a candidate qualified as "author" who has no idea what planet she is in.
2/ Up to now, only the unelectables had the courtesy of answering questions. I have my little issues, a long life as a professor, a bit of OCD (benign) and "kinda in the spectrum" (benign) but a non-dialogue is booooooooooooooring.
3/ As in:
- Do you prefer pasta or rice for dinner?
- Thank you for asking: the mandatory closing of liquor stores on Sundays is definitely anti-secularist.
First, it's confusing. Repeated frequently enough, it's irritating AF.

@annorich 1/ Me too. It's the "what if" exercise. It's tragic, some say it's unproductive, but maybe not. Maybe we should write the what if fictions. Maybe, just maybe, it has a role.
@annorich 2/ What if they made it and Oscar found his relatives and friends, stayed in a collective house but was soon hired because of his special skills with plants at a local nursery. And Valeria started going to school in a class with a bunch of Korean children.
@annorich 3/ In 2020, the Democrats won the presidential elections and took the Senate. Oscar applied for residency and soon had his pink card. Since he also worked part-time at a small hand-made furniture shop, he saved money.

The ensuing legacy of slavery and overt discrimination have led some to call for “reparations” for African-Americans. Essentially as we have gradually stripped away the shackles of that nasty past, some seem determined to bring it back.
We see this in efforts to “race norm” admission to elite public schools, as in NY City, or to adjust SAT scores along racial lines. This violates the idea that people should, in the words of Martin Luther King Jr. , be judged not on their race, but on content of their character.

In 2006, an arm of @WHO began classifying cosmetic talc such as Baby Powder as “possibly carcinogenic” when women used it as a genital antiperspirant and deodorant, as many had been doing for years (2/12)
That same year, a J&J internal marketing presentation said the “right place” to focus Baby Powder sales was “underdeveloped geographical areas with hot weather, and higher (African-American) population.” It said: “This could be an opportunity.” (3/12)

There was too much info to type for each, so I've put it into photos. Only one member of the five listed on this page wasn't compromised. The other four are all Democrats that have made political donations to a DNC Candidate (including Hillary and Obama)!

Coincidence? NOPE! I found the same on this page of six investigators. All but one are Democrats and have made donations to a Democratic candidate. Weissmann actually was at Hillary's HQ on election night! FYI... 14 Democrats & 3 independents. NO GOP MEMBERS AT ALL!
