Okay I have to share this.I flagged a @BeckTaxi at Walmart( ironically it was a driver I have never met) I got in & headed on my way. About half way home an elderly lady walking on the sidewalk about 40 meters from our car fell down. Without hesitation the driver jumps out (cont)
He pulls over, runs to her aid, offers her Medical attention, water, to call someone for her, & helps her move into the shade. By this time dozens of have Cars have passed without even slowing down let alone helping. I’m now offering her to come with us and that we’ll drop (cont)
She declines noting that we’re heading in the other direction. We’re now both insisting to take her wherever she needs to go. She is heading to Walmart; so thats where we will turn around & take her. We got her settled in the car, but she was crying just saying thank you (cont)
She is digging to pay him( obviously not what either of us were looking for) he has already reset his meter at this point without saying a word anyway. During our short trip to Walmart she tells us that today is her 83rd Birthday; and that she is just thankful we stopped. (Cont)
We arrive at Walmart the driver jumps out, escorts her into the store and returns to take me home. He doesnt turn his meter back on until we get to the exact spot of where she fell. He turns around to me and says “ thank you for your kindness” most people would have told (cont)
Me to “hurry up”. Im in the backseat crying and digging in my purse. I knew I had a business card and a gas card in there just for him. We get to my destination, he starts to help with my bags. We get to the door and I finally shared who I was, he needed to know a) I was (cont)
Paying him the full fare( I know it would have been at least twice the normal B) I appreciate him for stopping and doing the right thing. C) that I work with Beck and he is exactly why we do what we do. D) to celebrate him with a commendation & a gas card. (Cont)
Needless to say, he was shocked. I was proud, and we were both standing outside my destination in tears. Not all superheros wear caps, some drive for their community. Job well done sir! It was my pleasure to meet you. 💕👏💕 #BestJob #SoGladISawThis #HappySheIsOkay
