There was some lively and healthy discussion over at the Liturgists Community Facebook page today about my “awakening sessions”. I was happy to see some of your thoughts/concerns/suggestions, and just wanted to clarify a few things for those who feel put off by these sessions.

First, I am not selling enlightenment. I am charging for my time and energy to sit with you and basically point my finger at your true Self for 90 minutes. It’s not something most people will or should pay for. It’s the PERFECT thing for some earnest, nondual spiritual seekers.

I am not doing these as an expert in Buddhism or Hinduism or Christianity, or any other specific tradition, but as a dummy who was lucky to experience a tremendous grace and (un)teaching that I’ve found can be passed on to earnest seekers of non dual realization in 1-1 settings.

I had my first awakening experience in 2010. I’ve done a hell of a lot of searching, seeking and studying since then about what that was (what THIS is) and under the tutelage of a spiritual teacher that I really respect, learned and developed the basic format of these sessions.

My sessions do not promise anything but my full presence and love as I lead you through a series of discussions and exercises designed to help you look at who you truly are underneath your stories in a more direct way than any other spiritual tradition I've found. (imo of course)

They are not for everyone, but if my book or Loving THIS podcast speak to you, but you can't seem to "break through" to the nondual perspective, these sessions are sort of like a bunch of giant hammer blows to the ice of your ego's sense of separateness.

I know it sounds woo to a lot of people. It's really not. It's quite plain and simple and, so far, effective. But I’m sorry to those whom these sessions trigger. I get it. White-presenting dude selling spiritual shit online. Rough waters. Not my ego’s preferred course tbh.

But despite my aesthetic and optic reservations, these sessions have been too sacred and beautiful to not keep doing them for now. I know the money thing is awkward. I think it always is. But it’s the world we live in.

That being said, if there’s any truly earnest seekers who feel called to one of these sessions but truly cannot afford it, please email me at [e-mail] and I’ll keep a number of pro-bono slots open for people in need.

Thanks to all those who weighed in with their thoughts and concerns. I know this is a really weird thing for a musical mystic to do. But for the people who tell me that these sessions are life-changing, I'm willing to do be a bit embarrassed if I need to.
