"IAS fraternity" does not understand what API access means. 😏 These kind of people make decisions.
When you don't understand the meaning of "public" but think public transport is their baap ka maal.😏 Taxpayers fund you. Public services should provide APIs so that entrepreneurs can build Apps. Much better than what overpaid "public servants" will build.
The only thing the bureaucracy is good at is CYA—cover your ass. This is why the country cannot move forward. To progress afsar-raj must be dismantled. @narendramodi
Public services are SERVICES for the public. An OPEN API means that ANYONE can build an app to give BETTER service to the people than you clerks can ever give. This is what #StartupIndia and #EaseOfBusiness means.
Because it will lead to a better experience for the PEOPLE who are your customers. Plus it will spur enterprise & innovation. It is not given to ONE company, it is open access for ANYONE. These anti-enterprise babus are why #StartupIndia fails.
Problem is not one policy or agency. Problem is the attitude of babu raj. This is why @narendramodi must take a lead in making open access to public data a policy.
