Loved this book. Got some wonderful ideas for my lectures. amazon.in/dp/1472260082/
It's a wonderful book for me because it teaches me how to communicate better. Take a look at some of the pages from google images:

Notice the method used.

Just a few words on a page. Along with a pencil illustration.

The words on a page communicate one idea. And one idea only. The reader gets focus.
The illustration complements the words. And the words compliment the illustration.

One is telling the other: You complete me.
Look at the font. Resembles handwriting. It's irregular. Flows like a wave. Up and down. As your read, slowly, you experience the flow the authors want you to experience.
Communication is an art. So is, by the way, investing.

When we are working on an investment hypothesis, we are persuading ourselves to make a decision. We are COMMUNICATING with ourselves.
When we write an investment note for the investment committee, or clients, we are COMMUNICATING.

I get to read a lot of ideas of other people. I think many of them are poorly COMMUNICATED.

There is too much noise. And too little attention to what really matters.
Most of the time only a few things really matter. Very very few things.

Why not focus on JUST THOSE THINGS? And leave the rest out? In that Investment note?

Why not use simple illustrations to COMMUNICATE better?
And why not use very short sentences? To communicate better? Like the author of this wonderful book?

who also gives us some other incredibly useful tricks. On how to write well?
There is SO MUCH we investors can learn from artists. From authors. From speakers. Instead we spend time studying only INVESTING. We leave everything else OUT.

That's a shame...
