Someone who can see the dots I'm connecting & present the info concisely (ADHD here) needs to run with it:

Congress doesn't understand the weaponry in this information war:
"All these people have their public whatever and their Twitter world." -@SpeakerPelosi

1/
The people of the United States of America were subjected to a direct attack using psychological warfare.

This attack altered our perceptions, elections, and ongoing attacks continue to threaten our democracy.
2/
The vehicles used in the attack were the internet (ie aircraftcarrier) and social media the weapon was disinformation.

Twitter = plane
Tweet = bomb
Comments retweets, etc. = bullets, shrapnel

Facebook = warship group
Facebook pages, groups = warships
Facebook posts = bombs
3/
Active measures: "...change the perception of reality of every American to such an extent that despite of the abundance of information no one is able to come to sensible conclusions in the interest of defending themselves, their families, their community, and their country."
4/
Congress doesn't understand either the initial or the continuing attacks:
5/
This is a grave threat to our democracy.
6/
Under ordinary circumstances of war (help), Congress would:
🔹 Ensure full and continuing briefings
🔹 Enact safeguards
🔹 Educate the public

None of these are happening. I was attacked today. You were attacked today. Our government is attacking us now, too.
7/
Example: educating the public via movies:

"Don't Be a Sucker is a short film produced by the U.S. Department of War released in 1943... It has anti-racist and anti-fascist themes, and was made to educate viewers about prejudice and discrimination."

8/
Example: educating the public via regulated news:
9/
Example: educating the public via the impeachment process:
10/
Example: educating the public via public service announcement (I grew up with these and loved this fellow): washingtonpost.com/national/the-1…
Ideally, our government would have:

🔹Responded to and mitigated, neutralized, or reversed the attacks
🔹Shored up our defenses
🔹Informed and educated the public (press, too)
None of which are happening, because

🔹 The Executive Branch and GOP are aligned with our attackers and those allegedly party to the attack or assisting Trump.
We are front-line soldiers in an information war with a few volunteer generals who have no support beyond our own. We must fix this. We must figure out how.
The preceding thread needs more organized minds with expertise to take the ball and run with it. Those Twitter stars who come to mind first and foremost in addition to our great journalists are:
@Teri_Kanefield
@sarahkendzior
@jennycohn1
@SethAbramson
Also of note: neither the GOP not the Democratic leadership indicate any interest in becoming further educated about or properly addressing this threat unless and until forced to or kicked to the curb, and we must keep that mentality in mind when endeavoring to save our country.
Our best hopes in Congress are those dedicated to saving our democracy and representing us, such as @ewarren, @AOC, @RepBarbaraLee, @RepMaxineWaters... observe who has called for a public accounting of Trump's crimes, the attacks, etc., vs. those engaged in doing everything but.
If yo decide to take up the gauntlet on this, there's no need to reference me. Take what you need and run with it in your own ways.
Fox is a huge carrier of disinformation. 50-75% of its content is false/misleading, and - t h e s c a r i e s t - it's the #1 "news" channel, but ***it's not classified as news, it's an 🎭entertainment source!!!
