I get why Cruz and Cassidy are doing this. I really do. However, I disagree with the move.

Antifa’s actions are already demonstrably illegal in almost every way. Declaring them terrorists doesn’t change that, and may further radicalize them as antifa are already anti-government
To effectively legitimize them by branding them as terrorists, it basically is an open invitation for them to go full Weatherfront like the radicalized hippies of old and begin a campaign of terrorist acts.
I would posit that this is exactly the reason it hasn’t happened yet. You have to realize, antifa’s being beaten right now. They’ve been forced to retreat from all but the deepest blue city strongholds where they alienate the surrounding populace more day after day.
You think the citizens in those cities LIKE antifa shantytowns cropping up at intersections? You think anyone LIKES antifa riots roaming and destroying the stores they shop at?
The British police have a tactic called ‘kettling’. I didn’t fully appreciate the purpose until I saw videos of these Antifa riots and realized what the tactic was actually meant to do.
Kettling is basically surrounding a protester-filled intersection with armored up police to isolate and contain the protesters for several hours, picking out and arresting the ones who react violently. This was used only after previous protests had proven to devolve into riots
The argument against it was that plainclothes officers were the one starting the riots, but then you have to realize, a few lone individuals don’t make a riot. Its everyone who jumps in after them that make the riot happen.
And the ultimate purpose of kettling?

Minimize the damage to surrounding businesses, as the protestors would be caught in intersections, and to increase the costs in time and energy for the rioters and the protesters providing cover for them.
Here’s what no one tells you about the kettling: it worked. It wasn’t ever used against the peaceful sit-ins of british students. It was only ever used against the roaming protest-riots, which stopped once kettling became the go to tactic for the UK police.
Back to antifa (and I know for a fact antifa elements were present in the UK student protests and were starting the riots, just fyi)

The ultimate goal is not to fight antifa to the death. Fighting them, labeling them as terrorists, it EMPOWERS them. It feeds their narrative.
They see themselves, they market themselves, they style themselves as anti-government freedom fighters. They train, i repeat train, in small group tactics, isolating, ambushing, and overwhelming individuals. They wear their individualized all black getups as uniforms.
For a group to be so virulently anti-government, a federal government response of an overt nature makes them a lightning rod. They are one good shove away from becoming an actual rebel group.
Declaring them terrorists is not a magic button to destroy them. Its a magic button that transforms them from a group of part time rioters into an actual guerilla group that will see all symbols of government authorities as targets.
You think cop deaths going up as a result of Obama’s absurdly irresponsible rhetoric was bad?

Imagine what happens to city police as an entire guerilla group decides they need to bloodily dismantle law enforcement if the police come near their hideouts just on routine patrols.
Sessions and Wray were smart to just have the DoJ and FBI monitor them. I fully believe that there has been MASSIVE behind the scenes pressure for these antifa groups to dismantle themselves and go inactive.
My proof?

July 4th.

@JackPosobiec was putting out the word that these antifa groups were meeting in DC, they were planning. The press wanted the July 4th parade to look like Tianamen Square. They had their narrative sent and ready.

And then... there were no antifa anywhere.
@JackPosobiec These antifa groups who were nationwide and popping up every weekend, suddenly we only see them in Portland and Berkeley? We don’t even ever see them in fucking New York.

Why?
@JackPosobiec Kettling on a national scale.

Thomas Wictor over on social.quodverum.com discussed lagging indicators. Signs of a plan that only appear after the plan has already proven successful.
@JackPosobiec ANTIFA was pushed back and isolated to the only places left for them, deep blue cities with friendly local-level governments. These are the only places they can effectively emerge in force now.
@JackPosobiec And now that they’ve been trapped and contained there, they’re going to be isolated and left to stew in their own filth until they throw in the towel or the local government cracks and deals with them themselves.
@JackPosobiec You think the ICE bomber’s antifa group is sitting pretty right now? Hell no. The fact we aren’t seeing anything is because the media is currently chasing the Trump Red Dot about the AOC squad that helped start this shitshow.
@JackPosobiec Behind the scenes, the local government is getting a colonoscopy about how they let a group like this fester and rot within their city, and the local antifa are getting some very frightening visits from the FBI party van.
@JackPosobiec Strategery, people.

Don’t try to fight the enemy to defeat them. That’s what they want, to drag the larger opponent into a neverending fight.

Defeat them by convincing them it would be a VERY BAD AND VERY COSTLY IDEA for them to continue fighting.
