Part of the desire to install Robert Caslen is some people think faculty and students should be brought to heel and he's the man to do it. Remember, though, student tuition funds 50% of the institution. What happens when stakeholder wishes are ignored?
What's happened at U of South Carolina is essentially a repeat of the 2014 search at College of Charleston. Same dynamic. In SC, the public institutions are political playthings, even as the state barely supports them. insidehighered.com/blogs/just-vis…
