Gen Krulak devised the concept of the “Three Block War” to to describe the challenges likely to be faced by Marines on modern battlefields. Marines may be required to conduct full scale military action, peacekeeping & humanitarian aid within the space of 3 contiguous city blocks.
General Krulak is the son of LtGen Victor H. Krulak, nicknamed “Brute”.

Operation Forager, was the code name name of the Mariana and Palau Islands campaign which included the Battle of Saipan on June 15, 1944. At 0700 8,000 Marines from the 2nd & 4th Marine Divisions launched an amphibious assault on the heavily defended island. #USMC #DDaySaipan75
Dad was with 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines, 2nd Marine Division. Previously on Tarawa he commanded an Infantry platoon and was wounded by a sniper towards the end of the battle but managed to walk away. On Saipan he was on Battalion Staff as the S2 Officer and was not as lucky...

I mentioned the other day how much I prefer a fat-client approach to today's standard and largely unquestioned reliance on browser-based solutions. I want to step into it, even knowing I'm gonna get yelled at.
Freely made admissions to start: 1) I admit there are situations where a browser is best. 2) I admit that some modern internet-stack environments are better than others. 3) I admit that most of what I'm critiquing is today's typical *practice*, not necessarily "what is possible".
Please. I make these admissions to forestall yabbitting around exceptions. I am talking here about mainstream software development practice as it is justified and executed. Your mileage, in special circumstances mentioned above, will almost certainly vary. That's ok.
