Labour's new "No Place For Antisemitism" website and leaflet is littered with misinformation. THREAD:

The site gives undeserved legitimacy to Israel's bogus "working definition" of antisemitism -- a document endorsed by modern day European Nazis: electronicintifada.net/blogs/asa-wins…

The worst part of the site is this: "for many Jews, Zionism represents national liberation" -- Zionism is in fact a settler-colonial project which was always open about its aim to "transfer" the Palestinians out of Palestine.

Zionist leaders were always candid about this right from the start. Herzl himself wrote to arch British imperialist Cecil Rhodes promoting "the Zionist plan" in Palestine as "something colonial" ihrc.org.uk/multimedia/vid… mondoweiss.net/2010/09/actual…

As leading Palestinian intellectual Joseph Massad correctly notes, Zionism "is not a national movement, for example, by native populations that were trying to liberate their country from colonial forces": middleeastmonitor.com/20190618-the-c…

As Massad notes, the current Zionist spin about their project being one for "self-determination" and "national liberation" did not really begin until after 1967.

Zionism expelled 800,000 Palestinians (the 1947-49 Nakba) and currently bars them and their decedents -- millions of people -- from historic Palestine, for the sole reason that they are not Jewish. electronicintifada.net/content/future…

But the new Labour website/leaflet sickeningly erases the reality of the Nakba, this Catastrophe, referring only obliquely to "The impact that the creation of Israel had and still has on the Palestinian people".

Labour's new document also puts forward the false narrative that anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about George Soros are a primarily left-wing phenomenon.

The champions of the anti-Soros conspiracies are mostly the far-right and Israel, as well as assorted Zionists -- groups there's often a big crossover of anyway.

I've noted b4 that Momentum's video on this used the example of a racist Soros-tentacles graphic, which echoed Nazi propaganda -- but a key part of the tweet was edited out.

More importantly, the whole premise of this "educational material" is utterly flawed. If @jeremycorbyn genuinely thinks that by endorsing this document the "crisis" will be "solved" he's totally deluded.

There is no crisis of antisemitism in Labour -- there is a crisis of fabricated allegations that have been used as a weapon to attack the left and the Palestine solidarity movement.

This crisis is not meant to be solved. The whole purpose is to drag this on indefinitely as a political weapon.

Each new capitulation to the right and to anti-Palestinian groups only brings more howls of objection -- they constantly refuse to take yes for an answer. They then pocket that and demand more. Repeat ad infinitum.
