Now that the Mueller hearings are over and everyone is having their take, it time to see whether there is any substantive political impact on Capitol Hill./1
Some concrete developments to look for./2
Does the number of Democrats formally calling for impeachment go up from 88?/3
Is there any sharp change in public opinion polling over the next few weeks?/4
Does any influential Senate Republican break ranks with @senatemajldr in defending @realDonaldTrump?/5
Does @SpeakerPelosi make any statement (in private or public) expressing serious support for starting the impeachment process?/6
Do the Mueller hearings trigger noisy town halls during the August recess with Democratic voters calling for impeachment in swing districts?/7
Does Mueller's testimony inspire the formation of a caucus of House Democratic moderates who join the call for impeachment?/8
Do the hearings have any impact within the conservative media? More voices like Chris Wallace who are willing to challenge the administration/9
Does Mueller's testimony produce some kind of sustained, centralized Watergate-style televised congressional hearings (short of impeachment) in September?/10
Do the hearings produce a serious Republican primary challenge or a conservative leaning third party candidacy (@justinamash) for 2020?/11
Obviously, there are other signs to look for, but these are some of the biggest ones./12
If the answer is "no" to all of the above, it is difficult to see how Mueller's testimony, which was highly significant and damning for the president in terms of the substance, has a major political impact, at least in the near future./end
