THREAD: Decision making - Microscopes and Satellites
/ Every act committed and every decision made by the German Government leading up to and during WWII was legal from their POV.
/ What is ethical and what is legal are too often two different things entirely.
/ Too many people see the microscope view only - and make their decisions based only on the dictates and observations of the granular/ultra-granular.
/ And while a microscope view is valuable and not to be overlooked - we must simultaneously formulate our decisions from a satellite's POV.
/ From 22,300 miles up in geosynchronous orbit, we get a very different view compared with our microscope.
/ To take either of these perspectives without the other will lead to profound mistakes in our personal and professional lives - as well as on a worldwide scale.
