I used to state (until blue in the face) that we were not electing Vote Leave and their 'manifesto'.
This was a fact.
VL were not a govt in waiting and so had no locus to form a govt. A referendum is nothing like a general election.

From time to time, VL leaders themselves made this point, as per Liam Fox above. Hannan was also very clear about it.
Boris Johnson was also well aware at the time that VL were not a govt in waiting. 
But all along, the problem was that an underlying and not-explicitly-stated alternative narrative was taking hold in SW1 and across the whole mainstream media (which is why I felt the need to bang on about it).
The alternative narrative being that we WERE basically electing VL.

Yesterday represented the breakthrough of this alternative belief system. Yes things really can happen if everyone belieeeves enough.
And make no mistake, Remain voices have been complicit in all of this, pointing out constantly 'what Vote Leave promised; THE BUS, THE BUS!'.

Was I naive thinking anything other than this would eventually happen - that VL would be taken as the true representation of Leavery?
