1/3 No deal is not a long-term policy. It is a moment - leaving without an agreement on a particular date - but it cannot be where we end up. Some kind of arrangement would eventually have to be reached....
2/3 ...but it’s pretty clear that the EU would insist on the main parts of the Withdrawal Agreement being accepted by the UK before they agreed to anything - eg the kind of Canada-style deal which the PM says he wants but which wouldn’t solve the problem of the Irish border.
3/3 So no deal is not only by far the most economically damaging policy but also - ultimately - pointless. That’s why the House of Commons must prevent the new Government from inflicting it on the British people.

2/8 The purpose of the Bill is to ensure that the UK does not leave the European Union on the 31 October without an agreement, unless Parliaments consents.
3/8 The Bill gives the Government time either to reach a new agreement with the European Union at the European Council meeting next month or to seek Parliament’s specific consent to leave the EU without a deal.

1. Amid all the argument, the Brexit Select Committee took evidence recently from representatives of the UK’s most important industries and services. We asked them what No Deal would mean to them, listened to what they had to say and concluded the following in our report:
2. “The Government’s own economic assessment shows that a “no deal” exit from the EU would be the most economically damaging outcome for the UK, with the effect most pronounced in the North East and the West Midlands....”
3. ...and the chemical, retail, food and drink and manufacturing sectors would be hardest hit.....The Government’s own analysis reinforces our previous conclusion that attempting a “managed no deal” cannot constitute the policy of any responsible Government.”

1. A few thoughts on the damaging normalisation of No Deal. To start with there is no mandate for No Deal from the 2016 referendum. The Leave campaign never argued for No Deal. It said it would get a deal.
2. There is no doubt that No Deal would be the most damaging outcome for the economy. Have a look at the most recent @CommonsEUexit evidence sessions here parliament.uk/business/commi…
3. I am genuinely puzzled why those who don’t make things and don’t trade with the EU for a living appear to know better than those who do what effect No Deal would have on these businesses.

The fact that our dear country do not take responsibility for Nigerian citizens abroad is appalling.

In sane climes, such oversight will not happen; It is a show of dismal and embarrassing image for Nigeria.

Issues vital to national interest are captured under:

1. Primary Interest
2. Secondary Interest; and
3. General Interests.

However, I choose to be explicit on the secondary interest of a nation because it encompasses the crux of this matter.

Long term, life is far more fragile than we are led to believe. When you look around at the history we know and are taught, we get a sense that the same old stray just goes on forever, but with new toys and more tech. This is based on a very short sighted and incomplete view of
things. Every major society other than one over the long term eventually dies or crumbles. That one is our eternal society we are children of. The society we come from broke off from a now extinct race (other than us) from a now dead world. The cartoon series is fiction, but
is at the same time the very first and most accurate retelling of what really happened in our history. While we here in this life will have ET and plenty of fun stuff to see and learn with, actual long-term policy has to be made based on actual facts not the comfortable fictions

1. In 2017 we were invited to #No10 to talk to Gavin Barwell about our thoughts on things. I had a conversation with him on #Brexit that rings absolutely true now and is more relevant than ever - so I thought I'd share:
2. I said to him that #Brexit had redrawn 'party lines' - that right/left was now less relevant that #leave/#remain and we had to examine our 'core vote' on that basis. We had done well in the #Mansfield-esque seats and lost the Croydons, we needed to think about why.
3. I said to Barwell that there was no compromise that would keep both #remainers and #leavers happy. That we could not keep both audiences on board in the context of #Brexit and we should not try - it's impossible. We had to leave first, and then we could rebuild the coalition.

Consort has this theory that all conflict springs from unrealistic expectations. You and your husband might be the best example I have seen in quite a while. He wanted a dog and he wanted you to want the dog. He loves the dog and he wants you to love the dog.
That may not be realistic. So then the question becomes, "What now?" What if you don't have hostility towards the dog but the breath thing is out of control and the paws are everywhere?

In any long-term relationship, there is compromise. You agreed to something you didn't want.
You are not the first person to end up with a pet they wouldn't have chosen. The problem is not with you. The problem is, again, your husband wants you to love the dog.

America is riddled with:

💰 corruption

The U.S. is still a very rich nation compared to Germany, Sweden, Japan, Canada or Denmark.
