What characterises the Williamson/Galloway tendency on the British left? Conspiracy theory (of all types, but prominently “anti-Zionist” ones); accommodations with nationalism; support for “anti-imperialist” dictators; hero worship of leaders; toxic online culture...
...I don’t think it’s alarmist or over-the-top to say that you could see a genuine red-brown type movement emerging out of that. I don’t know if what is primarily an online milieu has the substance to cohere into a real-world movement, but it’s not beyond imagining.
Dismissing those politics as the fringe concerns of “cranks” isn’t good enough. The anti-conspiracy-theory, consistently-internationalist, rational, class-struggle left has to actively confront and educate against them.
