It is precisely these kinds of conditions, from Labour and everyone else, which could hand Johnson victory.
Putting in a caretaker govt to ensure a pre-Oct 31st election, or (better) an Article 50 extension and then an election, could be vital.
No-one should be ruling out a goddamn thing. Other parties shouldn't be ruling out having Corbyn do it. Corbyn shouldn't be ruling out it being someone more palatable to rebel-Tories and Lib Dems.
I know. What a sweet naive dream that politicians should put aside self-interest and personal jitters to stop disaster being inflicted on their country. But there is nothing more important than stopping no-deal.
The clue is in the name: caretaker govt. It exists for a blink of an eye, in order to secure an election. It is not the same as saying you'd go into coalition with Corbyn long term.
Let's hope politicians have some proper moments of reflection this month, because they're going to need to come back in September with a lot more flexibility.
