This morning we held a small prayer service at La Lomita Chapel in Mission, Texas with Fr. Alonso Guevara.

Generations have prayed here and President Trump’s useless wall threatens to cut right through the chapel and its grounds.
Out next stop is the Catholic Charities Respite Center in McAllen, Texas.

Families that have been released from @CBP after qualifying to proceed with an asylum application come here to find warmth, a welcoming surrounding, clean clothes, food, and place for children to play.
Families can also learn more about the legal process they have just begun. Sister Norma Pimentel, who runs the center, gave us an update. She is an inspiration!

This place represents the goodness of America. I wish our government would follow Sister Norma’s example.
