Yesterday was a terrible day for the SW community. A man brutally murdered a fellow SW. We are grieving, reeling, and afraid.

We rallied yesterday, a lot of work had to be done, organising support, media damage control, police stuff.

And then I saw this. 1/

This is a response from a member of this cesspool of a site to Michaela’s murder.

This member is suggesting that a SW using fake ads is such a terrible thing for a client that is is a driver for homicide. And is racist.

Then: “It won’t be the last. Let the culling begin.” 2/

These comments were made a matter of hours after Michaela’s murder.

Now, none of this is surprising. One of the first self care strategies SWs chose to use was to avoid reading PP because we knew it was going to be even worse than the usual dumpster fire it usually is. 3/

More whining about the injustice of fake ads. More self absorption that is beyond most people’s comprehension. And then, mention of a gun. Wishing he had one. In the booking. 4/

Obviously this whole thing is already unbelievably disgusting, violent, cruel.

But do these 'people' not understand that SWs are afraid right now? Can they not imagine how, every time a SW is hurt, we are reminded of how there are men with weapons who might kill us? 5/

Sex workers are already painfully aware of how much stigma we have to deal with on a daily basis. We are already surrounded by bullshit every day. Dead hooker jokes. Grand Theft Auto. Discrimination in the health system, the legal system, education, employment, housing.

Police bullshit. Media hell. Legislative absurdity. Being arrested for having a security person. Safety measures being illegal. Stigma is EVERYWHERE for us.

And then one of our own is violently murdered, and these fuckwits want to whine about fake ads? Talk about guns? 7/

PP cannot be defended. The 'good' bits don't matter. Members of this site dehumanise, mock, and denigrate SWs on the DAILY. The site is so distressing to me that I cannot read it and choose not to. But what goes on there is DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for violence against SWs. 8/

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, on this pyramid has been either directly done by or contributed to by PP and its membership. 9/

Every time one of your hateful, shitty comments is posted there, every time you participate in this discourse, EVERY TIME you sit back and let it go on and don't care about protecting us even though you consume our labour, you are responsible for violence against us. 10/

I call out whorephobia constantly, I and other SWs work our arses off, to challenge and dismantle the stigma that kills us, every day of the week. We never get time off from that. Even when one of us is murdered, we still have to find the energy to deal with this shit. 12/

So, I call for anyone with enough heart/brain cells to grasp this simple concept to stop allowing this horror to continue. Stand up.

Fake ads? Really? You turn up to a luxury leisure experience and your dick wasn't as hard as it could have been? We get murdered. Fuck off.
