even if EU and Ireland completely caved and dropped the backstop, when would there be time to pass a new Withdrawal Agreement Bill? Queen’s Speech debate etc. Also Vote on QS assumes role as confidence vote. Does HM say “we will leave on Oct 31st”? Many Qs.
... so have Queen’s Speech Oct 14, then go to Brussels 17th for summit to get some sort of concession, with message to EU & Ireland - it really is whatever you can give me or No Deal.

Then return from Brussels face vote on Queen’s Speech with message to HoC it is my deal or ND..
Recent lengths of prorogation via @commonslibrary - average of last 7 - 6.5 days - need not last longer than 3 even when Parliament is actually dissolved... researchbriefings.files.parliament.uk/documents/CBP-…
Series 17 of The Crown should be fun.
should get proclamation like this from meeting where Rt Hon Jacob Rees-Mogg in his capacity as Lord President of the Privy Council asks Her Majesty at Balmoral for prorogation of Parliament/ this is what it looked like last time in 2016/ 2017
Also in same week PM returns from Brussels he’d have to have satisfactorily & maybe simultaneously agreed with DUP a review of the Confidence & Supply Deal triggered by new session/ Queens Speech in order to win vote... many (too many?) moving parts here...
Government in bringing Queens Speech at this moment has avoided opportunity for MPs to cancel conference recess in order to pass legislation.. BUT will have to carry out simultaneous negotiation with Brussels on Brexit and DUP on confidence just ahead of effective confidence vote
Also - see my interview with Cabinet minister Amber Rudd from two weeks ago about bypassing Commons on No Deal:
Lobby reporting prorogation Order in Council already made at Balmoral - next step is that the Justice Secretary appoints 5 Privy Counsellor peers as a Royal Commission, some parchment, the Speaker, and some Norman French... will Bercow play ball? parliament.uk/about/living-h…
Here’s what it looked like a few years back - cross party Lord Commissioners act on behalf of the Queen to prorogue Parliament, the men get to doff their caps too. Would you get cross party cooperation in these circs?
The male Lord Commissioners doff their caps at whom? Well the Speaker of the Commons no less, who then hands over the remaining Bills for Royal Assent..
Here it is - official:
Lord High Chancellor now picks 5 peer Privy counselors to act as “Lords Commissioners” to doff caps at Bercow in prorogation ceremony at some point between 9th and 12th September
...as well as prorogation @JamesCleverly and Lord Ashton appointed to Privy Council ... but where is the commemorative 50p Brexit coin we were all promised? Never made it to PC as required before March 2019 and was never produced... not much time now before Oct 31st.
As PM, Mr Johnson hasn’t actually won a single Commons vote, before asking and getting the Queen to suspend it ... that hasn’t happened at least post war/ in this monarch’s reign.

Eden maybe closest - a month - but he passed Budget, before dissolution ahead of a GE in 1955.
... so @woodstockjag - last time an incoming PM who had not won a Commons vote, asked and succeeded in getting the Crown to suspend the Commons? 1920s?
