THREAD: Lots of people speculating about a possible pay-off for Jared O’Mara if he stands in a snap general election after he ‘postponed’ his resignation as Sheffield Hallam MP.
I understand IPSA has ruled that MPs who have served for 2+ years (which Mr O’Mara has) and then lose their seats receive double the statutory redundancy pay awarded to members of the pubic together with a two-month salary allowance and expenses for staff and removal.
IPSA made the ruling last month.
As an aside, I have also received reports from three separate eyewitnesses that Mr O’Mara “is out tonight”.
