The world has changed so much that we don’t really need platforms like this to express our displeasure when we have our handles. The @wef platform has its own agenda & you simply can’t create your own. Your country made a decision, you could have simply honored that. But No. 😞
We can’t conquer the world without first conquering ourselves. What is African Inity when there is no unity within the countries that constitute Africa? Nigerians went wild over this & the @NGRPresident took a decision in line with the people’s mandate but you felt U know better?
What can you say there that can’t be recorded on your phone and shared on your twitter handle while #WEF is tagged for the needed effect? If you must be a voice of the people you have to respect their wishes even if you don’t fully agree with them.
If you claim to have gone there in personal capacity then don’t speak for Nigeria and Nigerians. Represent yourself in your languid intransigence. Jim Ovia won’t dare speak for Nigerians but his business with that unconscionable move. You’ve both shown zero emotional intelligence
I never knew a day would come in this life and age that I would align with @BashirAhmaad but that guy was apt. Whether you like it or not we still have a President in Nigeria and we can at best align ourselves at times like this and #RiseAsOne. This is an embarrassment.
Leaders the world made the same decision to boycott this and send a direct message to the heart of South Africa. There are other women of repute who’s never missed #WEF function but were clearly absent but you chose to stick out like a sore thumb. For what exactly?! 🤔
Our people went against themselves on this matter and caused damage to anything slightly connected to South Africa on their own soil. Why should any citizen with the posturing of standing for and by the people do this without deeper consideration? 🤔
If Distinguished @TiwaSavage @burnaboy @wizkidayo etc who are no academics yet understood the pulse on the street in their personal capacity didn’t give the excuse of using their music to send a message on South Africa platforms, why should the alleged enlightened do this? 🤔
The only side I have is the people’s. Feel their pain, see through their eyes and feel the beats of their heart and do right by them if you must bask in the euphoria of being the voice of the people. It goes beyond mouthing this but making the needed sacrifices. Take correction!

This applies to all that attended allegedly in their “personal capacity.” No doubt the focus will be on those who took to the stage to talk about NIGERIA instead of their ‘personal business’ having betrayed the collective resolve of Nigerians. #Shame
None of these 'personal capacity' attendees would die should they all agree to grant an interview stating that they were already on ground before the Country decided to boycott WEF and they have chosen to show patriotism to boycott as a respect to our fallen compatriots. But No.
