(thread) In #Kashmir I used to think that when I will finally have internet, surfing is all I will do. Since I came to Delhi internet especially social media, has overwhelmed me. It almost feels like a privilege & there have been moments when I felt guilty to use it. As a result
I haven't used a lot of it. Mostly because the newly adapted habits. We don't look into the phones as frequently. Also initially it looks just weird. The information on it, the people talking freely, videos etc all of it overwhelms you. I am sure those who spent time in #Kashmir
feel the same way.Nevertheless communications blackout is one part of the story. The larger problem that ails Kashmir is this sense of uncertainty. People are extremely anxious about what is impeding. Communications blackout has only magnified this anxiety. Government has assured
Situation will improve but it's a hard buy for people in #Kashmir especially with what happened last month. There is also this growing anger which needs to be addressed on priority basis. Have no idea what TV has been saying but Everywhere you go, people are angry, those telling
you otherwise are simply lying. Everywhere you go you can feel the tension and fragility of the situation. Those who don't feel this are either oblivious or blinded by their privilege
Anyways now that I have few hours of internet left, I would like to post some pictures I clicked during this period : just a window into everyday life there. Follow this thread
