Satellite hacking's finally becoming a thing at DEFCON 2020 - The Air Force Will Let Hackers Try to Hijack an Orbiting Satellite wired.com/story/air-forc…
In wake of this I have to admit that I was pretty close in doing that on my own. More details:

The target was @Audacy's Audacy Zero cubesat, its web interface was super-easy to be accessed; only a single Google account was required.
@Audacy It was intended to be a grey-hat hacktivist operation, meaning that once I flipped @Audacy in small directions, their personnel will be first informed and be given opportunities to patch the hole, before finally the "public disclosure".
@Audacy It was just the means to an end - to raise awareness against #Article13 which back then could be stopped right in its tracks.
@Audacy After the cubesat mission itself was declared a failure by @Audacy eventually at the first place, I was going to keep it a secret for a while.
@Audacy but when the USAF announced that an actual satellite hacking will be a reality on DEFCON 2020, then I realized that I have to deal with it and move on.
@Audacy Not to mention coming clean on it and hoping this will serve as a inspiration for pen-testers looking for ideas to be the front-runner of next year’s DEFCON satellite hacking segment.
@Audacy Had Audacy 0 succeeded and so does my grey-hat mission the moment could be used to raise awareness against #Article13 in a #ReadyPlayerOne’s fashion and likely cause it to be stopped on its tracks. That way things like memes and music remixes would be untouched as it should be.
