Even lawyers know that news stories are not evidence. Barr sent a redacted Mueller Report, but did not send the documents that backed it up. He has withheld the evidence and blocked testimony. News stories are not evidence, by refusing to honor subpoenas & blocking testimony,
the Administration is preventing Congress from accumulating the evidence it needs to vote for impeachment. The hearings that are going on must go to court every day if necessary to compel compliance. They must vote contempt and fines for every person who refuses to testify.
I get that Congress needs evidence, not news articles to vote to impeach, but it needs to force that evidence to be supplied. Mnuchin should be held in contempt and everyone refusing to comply with subpoenas of taxes should be held in contempt - with fines, criminal charges
Barr must be voted in contempt and referred for criminal contempt. We cannot let this continue. The minute someone cites the nonexistent presidential privilege, call hearings to a halt and vote on contempt. Stop allowing them to flout Congress with impunity
I understand not voting to impeach right now, the evidence is mostly not in hand, it's been withheld illegally, but punish them for withholding it. I understand once the actual impeachment vote is held, the need for hearings ends and it goes to the Senate. but the hearings have
to produce more than drama, they have got to produce real, painful consequences for the filth who refuse to answer questions with phony justifications that have no legal merit. Prosecute them. Make them squirm.
