It's really sad that the president is so, so orange while declaring he and other nationalist/populist dopes are over globalism. Also why are his eyes closed? Sometimes I wish I was a cartoonist in this dumb era.
I am repeatedly stunned at what terrible speechwriting happens in this White House. I mean. This has traditionally been a job for some of the most talented guys behind the guys in this country, and now it's who? Have they ever read a book?
No serious person writes or speaks "stamp out terrorism". It's terrorism. Use serious words.

There was a moment this wknd when POTUS's wordwizards thought they contained some damage by giving base this narrative: "the CIA changed the rules otherwise the whistleblower couldn't have reported so clearly Dems are over their skis, Biden is dead, POTUS will be re-elected".../1
... And that might have rippled outward, because House Rs were latching on.

But now POTUS is "helping" with his Twitter.

Eagerly await to see which handpuppet will use the "right to meet his accuser" line first.

Lot of stuff in whistleblower doc that will be lost in hoopla.

One is POTUS telling the President of Ukraine to make a deal with Putin before he gets WH meeting.

The other is there seems to have been a deal already with Poroshenko's team, but then he lost, hence renewed frenzy.
The timeline on this goes further back.

But it also goes forward.
to amend the above -- a prior deal with the prosecutor general under Poroshenko, whom, low and behold, POTUS wanted kept in job. There is nothing to suggest Poroshenko himself was involved.

Before Giulianiverse "finds" something in Kyiv that "proves" that there was no Russia/DNC hack or whatever: please remember that Dutch intelligence infiltrated the computers of the Russian hacker unit, watched its interactions w/ GRU, & hacked a camera to watch the whole thing.

I'm sorry but this is a Brexit thread. I'm going to try and take a different line of thought to "remainers want to betray democracy" or "leavers want us to starve and run out of blood" though so bear with me.
I voted remain because I didn't see a plan for leaving and because I didn't want domestic policy to be ignored for a decade.

However I'm pretty eurosceptic. My experiences in Govt showed me just how dysfunctional and undemocratic EU institutions are.
Moreover the EU project is coming under extreme pressure from the rise of nationalist/populist movements all over Europe - including now in Germany (AFD is coming 2nd in some polls now).

The biggest driver of this is immigration (alongside failures of economic integration).
