1. There's a SECOND call (April 2019) in which:

Trump "urged Mr. Zelensky to coordinate with Mr. Giuliani and to pursue investigations of 'corruption' ... the details of which have not previously been reported."

“The Trump and Giuliani allies ... appear to have had inside knowledge of the U.S. government’s plans in Ukraine. For example, they told people that Trump would replace the U.S. ambassador there months before she was actually recalled.”
When the AP says allies, these were very close allies.

Two of the three businessmen—Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman—are same two men who coordinated and helped Giuliani with Ukrainian officials to push for Biden and 2016 investigations.

Key item in #VolkerTestimony

He tries to claim "at no time was I aware of or took part in an effort to urge Ukraine to investigate" Biden.

Who is he fooling?

NEW YORK TIMES had a blockbuster story May 9, 2019 with Giuliani on the record saying this was the point of the effort.
Elsewhere Volker tries to say:

Sure I was involved in confidential discussions to pressure Ukraine to investigate "Burisma," but we didn't use the word "Biden."

He's really insulting everyone's intelligence.

Here's from NYT May 9 story that Volker SURELY READ.

Burisma=Biden🤫
Or maybe Volker somehow also missed this earlier New York Times May 1 blockbuster story establishing that Giuliani's efforts to pressure Ukraine on Burisma investigation was all about Biden.

Sorry, Ambassador Volker, you're not wriggling out of this part of it.

On May 1st, 2019, Kenneth P. Vogel co-wrote the original Biden hitpiece in the NYT, rehashing the numerous accusations against Hunter Biden's work in Ukraine.

The co-author of that piece was Iuliia Mendel, who is the current Press Secretary of Ukraine. /1
