Let's take a quick look at the work of horror and fantasy artist Hans Arnold... #WednesdayThoughts
Hans Arnold was born in Switzerland, but spent most of his career in Sweden. He's widely known for his horror and folktale art.
Arnold had a very strict Catholic education in #Switzerland, with a strong emphasis on heaven and hell. It clearly influenced his work.
He started his career as an apprentice film artist, and he later went on to work on a number of cinema posters.
In Sweden Arnold is fondly remembered for his illustrations for the Bland tomtar och troll books....
...but he's mostly known and appreciated for his horror art!
ABBA asked Hans Arnold to illustrate an album for them, as did Duran Duran and Spiritual Beggars.
He also worked with Rose Bjorkman to create the Jolanda Tarot set, based on the Swedish Witch Tarot.
I'll do more charming Swedish horror another time...

Today in pulp I look back at one of the most influential and outrageous illustrators of the 1970s, whose work defined the Italian fumetti horror scene: Emanuele Taglietti!
Emanuele Taglietti was born in Ferrara in 1943. His father worked as a set designer for director Michaelangelo Antonioni, often taking Emanuele with him on set.
In the 1960s Taglietti moved to Rome, where he studied stage design. He began a successful career as an assistant art director, working for Federico Fellini and Marco Ferreri.

Cambodia has a rich modern history of pulp art, #comics and graphic novels. Today in pulp I look at the Cambodian scene and at some of the artists who made - and continue to make - it happen! #SaturdayMotivation
Cambodian pulp art was initially influenced by the French comic strip style, and later by Indian movie posters and hindi comics. But it also maintains a strong folk-art tradition, melded with contemporary themes.
In the 1960s Cambodian artists were able to make a reasonable living illustrating both comics and book covers for the domestic market. Flower Of Love, Flame Of Suffering by Hak Chay Hok (Khmer Books) is a good example of the genre. The cover is by Hul Sophon.

The race I’m analysing is the 7.15 Carlisle. Could have went with any race at Carlisle as there are 7 handicaps on the card and these are the races I specialise in.
I’m sure it’s pretty obvious to anyone reading but the advantage of handicaps (and especially 4 year old plus handicaps) is that most of the form is already in the form book for each horse.
Yes, there will always be improvers and regressors in a race but the point is, you can deduce this from the form or at least, you can try to do this. Compare this to a 2 year old maiden where none have run before. You are guessing!

Quick thread on NIFTY HH - HL on the Monthly Charts (In lieu of TCS buyback, we might get a new HH on the Monthly charts tomorrow):
1. Since 1999, NIFTY has had a streak of >3 HH - HL on the Monthly charts 16 times. Streak means NIFTY has made a HH - HL every consecutive month.
2. 3 / 16 have ended @ 3 months. For the record if NIFTY crosses 10929.20, this will be the 3rd consecutive HH - HL on the NIFTY Monthlies.

3. 2 / 16 have ended @ 4 months.
4. 11/16 have had streaks of 5 consecutive months or more i.e. ~ 70% of rallies which make 3 consecutive HHs - HLs on the Monthlies continue for at least 5 months; most for much longer.
