I just had a coughing fit that was so intense that I now have little petechae around my eyes. All I could think was how there are kids whose parents refuse to vaccinate them who are getting #pertussis and their little bodies are being wracked by similar coughing fits. Awful.
How could anyone do that to their child? When you have #vaccines to keep your child from suffering or possibly dying, why wouldn't you get them? What could possibly be more important than your child's well-being?
Anti-science is so creepily punitive and medieval.
#Vaccines have been established science since 1798 when the #smallpox vaccine was discovered & literally saved the world.
YOU don't have #polio because of vaccines. YOU lived beyond 5 because of vaccines. Go to an historic graveyard--lots of dead kids.
Anti-vax is child abuse.

The surliness of Sanders' team toward the press--in a public Twitter spat, Gray berated the Root's editors over their reporting on Sanders--has just compounded the questions on the transparency issue.
Bernie's staff and surrogates seem most concerned with getting him back in the public eye. The first debate--the HRC/CNN LGBTQ forum--is on Friday. Sanders' staff has not mentioned that, only the Oct.15 debate. So presumably his health will be the excuse for missing it.

In 2015, a study called Sesame Street the largest & least costly early childhood intervention that has ever been implemented in the United States.

The program taught literacy and basic, core math skills to preschoolers. Cheaply.
Who benefited most from a free Sesame Street? Economically disadvantaged kids and their families. Kids whose families weren't eligible for Head Start federal funding.

Kids who watched Sesame Street were better prepared to enter school and typically learned at grade level.
Kids who watched Sesame Street progressed at rates "appropriate for their age."

Why does this matter? Because academic inequality starts early in a child's education and can act as an anchor on their ability to excel as they get older. They fall behind and the gap gets wider.

In a free society debating ideology is legitimate, but pretending that VAT on fees will raise money, when it will actually cost money, is not. Please RT widely within your schools, work colleagues, friends & families so that we are all better informed
And the chaos wouldn’t just be for @ISC_schools children. Everyones kids would be shunted around into larger classes, with budgets stretched yet further & disruption to catchment areas, 1st choice preferences, house prices near top schools, loads more tutoring......
But most of all what about children? Isn’t this all supposed to be about them? 135000 will face significant upheaval with education, friendships & lives overturned, often at key stages. The ideology of a few, stuck in the 1960’s, will hurt the many @PSPReform

I hate today tbh. I hate the anniversary of 9/11 with an almost....surprising fury because while I hate a lot of things I can usually find humor in even my hatred but today?

Nah. No humor.

Just so much hate.
I was 16 years old on September 11, 2001. I lived an hour and a half from New York City. My mother worked so close to Manhattan she could see the skyline from the parking garage. Most of the kids I went to school with had a parent who worked in the city or super close to it
It was third period when we saw the second plane hit; my American Politics teacher said "oh shit!" and the room went dead silent.

We all knew someone who was in the city that day

Basically, Uber's economics team did an experiment: if we randomly vary the structure of apologies for late rides, and if we randomly add rebates, does it change future customer loyalty?

Answer: yes. It does.
