New election-winning policy:

- All call centres to inform you of how long queue is, to nearest 5/10 mins, at regular intervals
- New duty on companies to publish average waiting time by department
- If that time is over 20 mins, senior managers face capital punishment
In all seriousness for many people today time > money, and so many companies are happy for us to burn through our time so they can save money. Better information helps consumers.
And yes I have just spent half an hour on hold after being promised that they would be with me quickly how can you tell.

Much of it is about politics rather than policy so will skip over that bit lightly - though some v interesting charts eg this on voting intention vs income

Labour's announcement on offshore wind is a fascinating case study in how the party isn't even pretending to care about fiscal discipline or prudent economics any more (1/?)
Last January, we totted up independent estimates of Labour's renationalisation plans and came up with a lowest-bound figure of £176 billion. cps.org.uk/research/the-c…
McDonnell went tonto. Said we should be ignored as a bunch of Thatcherites, refused to engage on any of the detail (no one from Labour has challenged a single figure). Insisted that it would cost taxpayer nothing, cos 'Parliament would set the price' & you'd have the assets

So for the last few months I have been exploring setting up a dedicated #Housing advice centre for #Suffolk. It is undeniable that due to the lack of #LegalAid provision in the county and the increase in people seeking specialist advice that a housing advice centre is desirable.
Whilst speaking to people about this a question that has been raised a number of times is “why are you not still providing specialist housing advice at @midsuffolkcab?” A good question that really does need answering so here goes.
This was me just over 7 months ago, happy #volunteering for @midsuffolkcab as a housing adviser and running a general advice outreach service at Wattisham. I was busy, the role stressful but for the most part I was throughly enjoying being part of something that I believed in.
