New election-winning policy:

- All call centres to inform you of how long queue is, to nearest 5/10 mins, at regular intervals
- New duty on companies to publish average waiting time by department
- If that time is over 20 mins, senior managers face capital punishment
In all seriousness for many people today time > money, and so many companies are happy for us to burn through our time so they can save money. Better information helps consumers.
And yes I have just spent half an hour on hold after being promised that they would be with me quickly how can you tell.
