Lindsey Graham’s reversal came after days of pressure from Trump’s allies — including Donald Trump Jr. — to deploy his gavel to counter the House impeachment inquiry.
Up until now, Graham had resisted a Ukraine probe, calling for DOJ to investigate instead and name a non-political person — someone like Robert Mueller — to head up such an investigation.
Lindsey Graham also had deferred to Senate Intel, which is conducting a closed-door, bipartisan probe into the whistle-blower’s allegations about Trump’s handling of Ukraine.
It also comes amid a major rift between Graham and Trump over Syria.
Top Democrat Dianne Feinstein cheered the proposal to bring in Rudy Giuliani for questioning, as did Kamala Harris. But not clear yet if Giuliani would answer their questions or just assert privilege on parts he doesn’t want to discuss?
