52 years ago today Gibraltar voted by an overwhelming 12,138 to 44 to remain a British overseas territory. Another ballot in 2002 rejected Spanish sovereignty proposals by an equally crushing margin. Oh for referendums with such decisive majorities.

I don’t agree that Gibraltar is “even more dependent” on an open border than NI. The problems are not comparable but they are very serious with a big negative impact on both business and day to day lives.
