Dominic Cummings is well know as a devotee of Col. John Boyd, fighter pilot and strategist.
I thought I'd dip into Robert Coram's book, "Boyd: The Fighter Pilot Who Changed The Art Of War", to see whether I could get a bit of an insight as to what to expect from Cummings...
Here is some text from Chapter 12.
If this is a guide as to how Cummings operates, it's clear that #Remain will need to do all it can to resist these tactics, by:
- being equally nimble;
- enhancing cohesion between disparate Remain elements;...
- resisting, in its ranks, "confusion, disorder, panic and chaos".
Here is a slide from Boyd's "Patterns" presentation, from bit.ly/315JVgi.

If there is anything in this link between Cummings and Boyd, it may suggest that:
- we are already in a political world where HMG will sow confusion, uncertainty and ambiguity.
- this is likely to deepen over the coming days.
- this may not be an accident, but a *policy*.
John Boyd saw everything - not just military activities: interpersonal relationships too - in terms of conflict.
"Hosing the enemy".
It's legitimate to ask whether Dominic Cummings sees the world that way too.
