”Below is a potential Lawfare piece from New Year’s Day 2021, following a not-quite-worst-case scenario of election interference using real vulnerabilities in U.S. electoral systems, as well as social media, traditional media and the political sphere.” lawfareblog.com/op-ed-future-e…
1/This is a chilling prediction of what could happen in 2021 if we don’t secure our ballot ahead of the 2020 elections, written by one of the researchers who contributed to the 2019 Stanford University study/Report on “Securing American Elctions”
2/In this fictionalized piece, Mr. Stamos delineates in excruciating detail what could go wrong in the lead up to, and on, Election Day 2020.
You really have to read that for yourself.
The question he leaves us with is this -
What will happen after?
Here are his thoughts👇
3/“By the time polls began to close on election night, spectators worldwide were glued to their screens, transfixed by what appeared to be the greatest American electoral crisis since the Compromise of 1877 handed Rutherford Hayes the presidency and ended Reconstruction.”
4/“U.S. adversaries had one final trick up their sleeves . At around midnight, CNN and Fox News reported completely different vote totals in Wisconsin-confusion generated by subtle manipulation of the intermediate counting systems, websites and data links providing vote returns.”
5/“While the networks both retracted their predictions quickly, tweets sent by the hacked Twitter accounts of the top personalities at both networks had left an enduring impression with the U.S. electorate.”
6/“It is small comfort that there is now one topic on which most Americans agree: The latest polling shows that 78 percent of Americans believe that the election was stolen. The hitch,is that Americans do not agree which candidate is the rightful president and which the usurper.”
7/“That brings us to the present day. Two groups of electors purporting to represent the voters of Pennsylvania, one appointed by the legislature and the other by the governor, met in December and transmitted competing “official” results to the archivist of the United States.”
8/“Lawsuits have prevented the electoral results of three other states, including Florida, from being submitted, and multiple cases with no clear precedent or outcome are still pending before the U.S. Supreme Court.”
9/“At this point,it seems that the House and Senate will select the prez and VP, w/out regard to the votes cast in each state-a complicated process made more so by the fact that doubts over the prez vote has also raised questions about the legitimate composition of Congress.”
10/And here’s my prediction
With the election results in disarray, the warring parties will bring suit and the SCOTUS will be called upon to resolve the issue. The SCOTUS will vote 5-4 to nullify the election results and to maintain the pre-election power status quo . . .
Congress will vote to appoint a special commission to investigate election interference and, in the interim! Trump will remain president, the Senate and the DOJ will remain under the control of the GOP, and the GOP will continue to pack the Fed bench and steal SCOTUS seats . . .
12/Here is an article from Forbes that describes exactly what we are up against vis a vis Putin’s cyber warfare machine
This is how they pull it off
