Centro is closed to vehicles. Roadbloacks this morning were slashing tires of anyone trying to enter.

Protests have gotten fiercer. Indigenous activists are in running melees w the police. Constructing barriers

2)Many protesters are extremely upset that this is being attributed to Correa. No one supports him here and the VAST majority I have talked to clearly indigenous

They claimed 100,000 people yesterday. Today it's growing, as are confrontations with police #EcuadorEnCrisis

3) I've been covering protests awhile and I've never seen anything like this

They are not playing. Protesters took over a tower near the Arbolito park to prevent the police form throwing bombs from the roof

4) Roving bands of protesters are wandering Centro. Most people are shouting support from their windows and there is not a car on the road

The protesters have field medic, soup kitchens, and roving helpers treating victims of tear gas #EcuadorEnCrisis

5) One protesters showed me what he says is a shotgun shell that was used on protesters sleeping in the Park last night

I'm no arms expert, maybe you twitter detectives can elaborate #EcuadorEnCrisis
