Trump's 2015 remark of his "conflict of interest" in Turkey has been well-quoted. What he told Steve Bannon shortly after was largely forgotten:

NEW: BigLaw firm King & Spalding, which registered as an agent for the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs under FARA in 2017, claims it's not authorized to accept service for the now-indicted Halkbank, which the firm represented during the DOJ investigation.
Reminder: Halkbank's former Trump-connected lobbyist Ballard Partners terminated its lucrative contract the day after the Turkish state-run bank's indictment.
More context: King & Spalding advises Trump's real estate empire, and its ties to the administration have been the subject of multiple news reports.

The "Distinguished Guests" in April included Erdogan's son-in-law Berat Albayrak, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross and Deputy Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette.

Among the speakers: Mehmet Ali Yalçindağ, who was Ivanka Trump's main business contact for Trump Towers Istanbul.
The non-profit American Turkish Council reported more than $500,000 in expenses for "conferences, conventions and meetings" in 2017, the last time before this year that it held the conference at a Trump property.

Shortly before this year's conference, Trump met at the White House with Erdogan's son-in-law Albayrak, who was implicated (but never charged) in the Reza Zarrab case.

1. Has @Trump business dealings finally become threat to US national security and US troops in Syria? First: @realDonaldTrump is taking money from business in Turkey. That's not subject to any dispute. Here Trump admits to conflict of interest in Turkey
2. Second: Turkey is no longer an ally. We pretend it is to keep the fiction of @NATO unity in tact but the fact is Erdogan and his AKP are allied with US enemies like ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Russia and Iran. This is not subject to dispute.
3. August 2016, when US allies #SDF negotiated ISIS' surrender of #Manbij, the ISIS forces drove into Turkey. This is a fact and the @StateDept @CIA & DIA know it's true. IMO these ISIS are among the fighters with Turkish forces in #Afrin and near Manbij.
