The SEC charged and froze assets of 18 traders, most of whom are based in #China, in a $31 MILLION stock manipulation scheme.

They are alleged to have manipulated prices of more than 3,000 US-Listed securities by artificially raising & lowering those stock prices.
The DOJ in Massachusetts also charged two of these traders in a parallel investigation. Those traders were: Jiali Wang and Xiaosong Wang.
Here's the DOJ announcement from yesterday about Jiali Wang and Xiaosong Wang. Both of them were actually arrested in the US yesterday, one while he was boarding a flight to Beijing at Logan International Airport last night.

Hmm, I wonder if any of these people have anything to do with this, too.

German prosecutors have ben investigating market manipulation related to Wirecard’s share price swings. Singapore is also investigating fraud at Asian subsidiaries.

Fan Yang, a Navy Lieutenant in Anti-Submarine Warfare unit at NAS Jacksonville, and his wife Yang Yang, were arrested for firearms charges, making false statements to a firearms dealer & conspiracy to violate US law.

Also arrested, though in Louisiana, was Chinese national Ge Song Toa, who had a business relationship with Fan Yang, and for whom Yang purchased a gun.
Oh, looks like Yang also lied on his top secret security clearance renewal form about his connections to China and Ge Song Tao.

Canadian seafood wholesaler Seven Seas Fish Company & it’s owner John Heras pleaded guilty to illegally importing over 9,000 lbs. of rotten/spoiled fish into the US to Washington state and other areas.
They bought the fish from a seafood company in Mexico and then tried to import it into the US. FDA safety officers found that 1/3 of their samples were over 20% spoiled, so they were refused entry into the US.
Somehow, they found a way to ship it into the US anyway. Looks like they claimed they were going to ship it back to Canada through the US, but then ended up distributing it in the US anyway.

It's being reported that #ElChapo's son Ovidio Guzmán was captured in Sinaloa, Mexico and there's just about an all-out war going on between the Mexican military/police and the cartels. It's not clear if his son Ivan was captured or killed.

Students made roads impassable by setting up barricades to block the army, so I got on my bicycle & pedaled furiously toward the gunfire. I reached Tiananmen Square shortly before the army & I watched as soldiers fired their automatic weapons directly at the crowd that I was in.
