Matt Gaetz used his time to interview officials on election security to discuss Peter Strzok. He badgered Nikki Floris, the FBI dep. ass't dir. for Counterterrorism for minutes, demanding she say whether she thought Strzok's affair was "in the highest tradition" of gov't service.
Gaetz said today's hearing was about smearing POTUS and "validating the corrupt people who have been involved in delegitimizing his historic election."
He also insisted Floris is currently occupying the job Strzok once held. She had to correct him.

"I hold a slightly different job, he was over an operational branch, I'm over an intelligence branch," she says and then repeats, "I'm not going to comment on whether his behavior was out of context."
Two observations from today's hearing: Many Republicans on House Judic, like Matt Gaetz and Debbie Lesko, choose mainly to invest time parroting 2016 conspiracy that comes from the presidential Twitter feed.
Other Republicans, like Ben Cline, at least invested some time today seeking answers from FBI about the status of election security for 2020. Specifically, what efforts may be underway to target electoral processes, for example.
