The Ukraine president is still afraid of an aid cutoff. He’ll say what he must for his nation to survive Russian aggression.
TThe phone call was July 25. By early August, Ukraine knew of the cutoff, sources told the New York Times. Aid resumed Sept. 11. Ukraine also knew another point of leverage, a White House meeting, was blocked.
Yes, it got delivered after the aid stoppage was exposed by the press and people started asking questions. When a bank robber gets caught and the money is returned, is the robbery no longer wrong?
Then why did people go to White House lawyer John Eisenberg to express concerns before and afterward? Why did Eisenberg hide the call memo in a highly classified system and tell security official Alexander Vindman not to talk about it?
That’s his opinion. In any case, an action doesn’t need to be illegal to be impeachable. Serious abuses of power are impeachable.
Yes, they do. They’re legitimate if the goal is to bolster U.S. interests. But this was done to bolster Trump’s political interests. Blocking Ukraine aid actually worked against U.S. interests, helping the Russians.
Name another country where Trump withheld aid because of corruption. Why did he mention the Bidens if they weren't the target? And why did he insist on a probe being *publicly announced* if not for political benefit?
The House has passed many bills that are now blocked by the GOP-run Senate, including gun legislation. Those bills aren't enacted because the GOP won’t act. #
