recent history has shown every time -- every time -- the democrats have been accused of moving "too far to the left" it isn't true. in fact i'd argue that since the late 80s, the democrats have lost more elections by being too much to the right than too much to the left.
people keep thinking voters back people based on piling up the candidates positions on one side then the other then weighing in on how that balance aligns with them personally. for most voters who can be persuaded, it just isn't so.
id take a progressive who is certain about their positions, even if theyre to my left, over someone closer to a center-left position who sounds like a big bowl of mush. and so would many many voters.

Oh man, I weighed in on like every Publishing Scandal and Bad Hot Take this week EXCEPT the don't quit your day job one! Which is a weird one for me because I DID quit my day job, but BEFORE I wrote a book?
Because I was a teacher on an emergency certificate, and then that IMPLODED just as I was about to get my Master's, and so I kind of HAD to quit my job because I wasn't certified/certifiable, and I was like, "Well, f***."
So I did what I always do which is to just burst through sh*t like the Kool-Aid man with deeply unearned self-confidence, and I was like, "GUESS I'LL WRITE THAT BOOK I ALWAYS WANTED TO WRITE??"

Oh man ... THREAD: 1) The Russians viewed the Trump team as an intelligence opportunity. Inexperience, hubris, or potentially something else led campaign, transition team, and Admin officials to circumvent the most basic counterintel rules
2) There is no reason why Prince and Nader could have viewed this as a casual meeting. That's just now how the Russians roll, and this wasn't Prince or Nader's first rodeo. Prince runs a global security company. He knows the Russians tricks. This was an obvious one
3) It appears (Mueller will figure it out) that Prince and Nader - like many other Trump team members - were knowingly or unwittingly pawns in a Russian intel operation - intelligence "marks" that were way too easy to manipulate. So what have we learned?
