For the last half century the ??? "how ya gonna pay for it?" Has haunted the progressive movement as most tried to operate under neoclassical/neoliberal constructs fabricated & lored into reality. Pay attention to those advancing Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) as they alone get it.

Invariably the naysayers and conspiracy peddlers saunter through but never bother to challenge their populist mysticism and therefore over elevate the importance of the wrong entities whilst ignoring the rep problem: Congress, who has been impotent and allowed to stay ineffective

And maybe even worse, posit insane "whataboutisms" that distract and confuse the average person who neither has a background in economics not has the desire to learn to push back from the tales from the Firepit and barstool.

Which renders our defense against austerity and neoliberalism weak and ineffective because the people are easily led astray as they chase bigotry, xenophobia and ignorance fostered by Ill informed conspiracy peddlers

And until we make some radical departures from the uninformed and turn to the pursuit of knowledge and strength, we will fail in our quest to topple neoliberalism

But this is simply a matter of what we value... Or don't.

Do we value chasing likes and clicks? Internet game? Or real change...

We are not on the gold standard and have not been since 1971 when Richard Nixon removed us from the Bretton Woods Accord & our nation saw the power of Fiat during World War II. Sadly we have forgotten those lessons today & millions are suffering because of "fiscal responsibility"

And because MMT economists have bucked the tide and pushed an understanding of Post Bretton Woods America, we are beginning to see a shift in the policy debate. We are collaboratively shifting the Overton Window and paving the way for a #GreenNewDeal and #MedicareForAll

Sometimes the blinding flash of the obvious hits us and we suddenly understand... Only many fall away and forget economics... Macroeconomics is the tip of the spear for our movement to make real progress.
