In 1973, Afghan's King Zahir cousin, Daoud overthrew him.

In 1978, Daoud along with his family was assassinated by Afghan Marxist Army officers.

In Sep 1979, Taraki was killed by Amin

In Dec 1979, Amin was killed by KGB commandos.

3-Bloody coups took place in AFG in 20 months

These coups were orchestrated by Soviets that saw tens of thousands of Afghans died in perhaps the most murderous purges since Stalin's day.

And Pak lefties, PTM & ANP won't berate & bemoan this foreign involvement in AFG that saw Soviets puppets being installed & removed.

**Within 5 years, Daoud was showing disturbing signs of independence from his Soviet masters.

Things came to a head in 1977 when, during a visit to the Kremlin, Daoud had a flaming row with Brezhnev, literally banging his fists on the table, while yelling that Afghans..

..made the decisions in Afghanistan. Fury showed on the Soviet President's face, Daoud had signed his own death warrant.

On April 1978, a group of Marxists officers led an armored & air attack on the Arg Palace - where Daoud & his family lived.

Palace was strafed by MiG-21s & Su-7s. Daoud & his family were brutally murdered in the rubble of the palace.

**Soviets then installed Taraki. Taraki cracked down on any opposition & tried to suppress them with brute force, within months armed resistance movements..

..started & followed up by mass mutiny in Afghan Army.

A plot was hatched in the Kermlin to remove Tarkai & install Amin.

Taraki was summoned in Moscow, upon his return, Amin had him seized, tied to a bed and suffocated with a cushion. That was in Sep 1979.

**After four months Brezhnev decided to remove Amin as he began to renege on promises made to Moscow.

In Dec-1979, the Christmas coup took place with Amin dying in Darulaman Palace under the guns of KGB commandos. They were under the orders that nobody should survive.
